The Online Booking Systems have become popular and benefit a restaurant because it allows the customers to book outside of the restaurant’s opening hours and is a quicker method of booking a table rather than having to call up and book it as the staff may be busy doing something else. Many restaurants have decided to create their own online booking systems or purchase one from another company.

Electronic point of sale systems are becoming more and more popular and are also advancing themselves as they are becoming more sophisticated with many more features being added. This is allowing restaurants to take their customer service to the next level as they are being able to meet certain requirements from the customers they never could before which will ensure that the customer needs and wants are met which will lead to them becoming loyal and repeat purchasing which will lead to their sales increasing and their profit margin widening. CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management and is a software that the owners of the restaurants will use it to organise all of their customer’s contact details and information because it will allow the owner to know which customers to contact and to try and build relationships with them by offering deals or getting in touch with them which will lead to the loyalty increasing which will lead to the customer repeat purchasing as they have built a relationship with the owner and will be rewarded for their business. The CRM will also allow for all of the information to be accessible to staff as well which will allow them to be able to serve the customers more effectively as they will have all the information they need which will allow them to cater to any specific needs which will increase the customer satisfaction and could lead to them becoming loyal customers.

This is a key tool to use when it comes to advertising and marketing your restaurant because it will allow you to send personalised emails to be sent to customers or potential customers based on their recent activities and personal information. An example of this is by offering a customer who usually purchases bottles of wine emailing them an offer about a 50% discount on wine at a certain time. Instagram is a good tool to use because it will allow you to post attractive images of your food and drinks which will lead to the followers seeing it and wanting to visit the restaurant as they like the look of the food which will lead to more people coming to the restaurant which will increase the sales. You should focus on advertising on 1 or 2 of the social media platforms so that you can post on them regularly and you should make sure your target audience are on the certain platforms so that they will be able to see it as there is no point advertising on Snapchat which is mostly young people when your target audience are middle aged.
